World Violence And The Christian
Violence, Danger Zones, Self-Defense?
Violence has plagued the human race since the beginning when Cain rose up and murdered his brother (Gen. 4). It was a contributing factor in the judgment of water (Gen. 6:11). Violence seems to be a consistent part of life where vicious and senseless killings regularly populate our news feed. What is at the core of the problem? Is it the kind of weapon or the heart?
"Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Gen. 6:5).
What does the Bible have to say about this and how is the Christian to understand and live in a world filled with violence? This series also looks at some dangers to the Christian as he faces violence as well as a brief understanding of the role of government.
This is my most comprehensive study of violence from a Biblical perspective. My notes are provided for the first two lessons and the charts are in Adobe (pdf) to preserve their integrity.
